Biography

Matthew Breetzke is a talented right-handed batsman from Port Elizabeth South Africa. He made his first-class debut for the Eastern Province in 2017.

Breetzke was soon named in South Africa's squad for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Matthew Breetzke is known for his exquisite stroke play at the top of the batting order but lately has been juggling between the middle order and top order, making him a complete team player and an anchor for building the innings.

Matthew got his first international call up, against Australia in the final Twenty20 International at Kingsmed South Africa on the 3rd of September 2023. Despite not having the best of games, Breetzke received heaps of praise from the team management and the captain for the fearless approach he showcases every time he is on the cricket field.
