Biography
The 20-year-old all-rounder, Matthew Boast, was picked up by Pretoria Capitals in the second season of the SA20 Auction, for a record R1.6 million, making him the joint most expensive buy on the day. The local player from Pretoria has gone from strength to strength and will now don the Pitori Blue.
The right-arm pacer already has a taste of being around the PC team after being called-up to the nets last year to bowl against the likes of Will Jacks, Phil Salt and Rilee Rossouw. It is here why he caught the attention of Jacques Kallis, our assistant coach.
He is known for his sharp and accurate bowling ability and dynamic hitting with the bat. He was part of South Africa’s U19 World Cup campaign in 2022, where he ended with 93 runs and 10 wickets in 6 games. He has also made his debut for Titans and has had an impressive start and showed massive potential. It’s time for the 20-year-old to announce himself to the world with some delightful performances in the upcoming SA20.
