Biography

Considered as the 'next big thing' for Pakistani cricket, Mansoor Amjad was also praised by the former coach of Pakistan Bob Woolmer for his talent as a leg-spinner bowler. With many comparisons drawn with the former greats of Pakistan spin Amjad's career began with hype. He proved his ability during Pakistan's U-19 World Cup 2004 win in Bangladesh; he was the key member of the team with vital contributions to the victory. Continuing with the success he again proved his worth when he took five wickets against the England Lions XI at Lahore.

Despite performing well at the domestic circuit the national call up took some time. He continued to nurture himself as an all-rounder. On his international debut, in a T20 against Bangladesh in April 2008, he took 3 for 3 in his only over. He was finally rewarded with an ODI debut in June in the Asia Cup 2008.
