Biography
Being raised in South Africa, Kruger van Wyk represented the Northerns in 2001.Waiting for Mark Boucher to retire was not an easy job and the plucky wicket-keeper, van Wyk realized it quite soon when he moved to Canterbury, New Zealand. After being given the captaincy of Canterbury in 2008, he was signed up by the Central Districts in 2010. He is one of those few players who has played professional cricket in three countries, namely South Africa, New Zealand and Scotland.
van Wyk was named in the New Zealand Test squad against the touring Zimbabweans in 2012. However, he made his international debut against South Africa a year later, after Bradley Watling was ruled out of the first Test due to a hip injury.
