Biography
Henry Davids is a hard-hitting right-handed middle-order batsman and a pretty useful off-spin bowler. He started his career with Boland and made his first-class debut in the 2000/01 season. He had a brilliant first season where he amassed 336 runs from 6 matches and continued the good work in the second. But his form took a dip and he joined the Cape Cobras in 2004/05. He regained his touch later on and performed consistently for the Cape Cobras in 2007.
Davids came into international limelight when he scored 137 runs at a strike-rate of 110.48 in the 2009 Champions League T20 which earned him a place in the top-ten run-scorers in the competition. He then moved on to Titans and was appointed the captain at the start of 2012/13 season. Davids was then called up to South Africa's T20I side, where he made his international debut against New Zealand. He had a successful series, with two consecutive fifties and a Man of the Match award to go with it.
