Biography
A blistering all-rounder, Lokuhettige is a powerful lower-order batsman and a right-arm fast-medium bowler. Blessed with immaculate accuracy and the ability to swing the ball both ways, Lokuhettige is built for the shortest format of the game, Twenty20 cricket.
Starting off his international career by making his debut in 2005 against India, injury prevented him to take part in future series’ and from there on; he went off the horizon of the selectors. The Lankan board brought him in the 20-man squad for the inaugural ICC World Twenty20 in 2007 but he never got the chance to cut it in in the team. For the Champions Trophy 2013, he replaced Chanaka Welegedara who was injured and ruled out of the tournament.
