Biography

Craig Meschede is one of the many South African-born cricketers to have been plying their trade for English cricket. His father's German nationality qualifies him to play for England at the international level as well.

Debuting in first-class cricket for Somerset in 2011, Meschede started playing for the club from age group levels and graduated from the Academy. The talented all-rounder received huge media exposure when as a 19-year old, he scalped his maiden first-class wicket in the form of none other than the world's greatest batsman – Sachin Tendulkar! Meschede was applauded for his performance by Andrew Strauss, who was Somerset's guest player in a three-day warm up game against the touring Indians at Taunton.
