Right then, that is it from the game. It was a walk in the park for the hosts in this first ODI. The second game between these sides will be played on Saturday, the 7th of December. The game will begin at 11.45 pm GMT. Do join us for the early build up as well. Until then, take care, and cheers!

Tahlia McGrath, the skipper of Australia Women, says that it was important for them to start the series with a win and the bowlers were outstanding, making her job very easy. Adds that it feels great when plans are executed right and appreciates Georgia Voll for the confidence she showed from the ball one. Mentions that chasing low totals gets tricky and the track wasn't the easiest to bat on so they still have things to fix and look to make it flawless.

Harmanpreet Kaur, the skipper of India Women, says that they bowled really well but their batting failed. Adds that they managed to take five wickets though the target was too low. She says that they will reflect on their mistakes in the next game and bounce back stronger. She ends by saying that they now have a clear idea of what they will have to work on in the next game.

Megan Schutt is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH FOR HER 5 wickets. She says it feels great and despite not being at her best at the start she managed to get things right and got a couple of wickets. Adds that it feels nice to tick off with a fife-fer but the win is even more satisfying. Concludes that they have a big game in a couple of days and will look to recover quickly and set up for that game.

Stay tuned for the Presentation Ceremony...

Earlier in the game, the India Women’s side struggled after electing to bat first, getting bowled out for just 100 runs. Megan Schutt stood out for Australia, taking her first five-wicket haul in ODIs with figures of 5/19. Despite a brief recovery from Harmanpreet Kaur and Harleen Deol, India lost wickets consistently, failing to build partnerships. Australia’s bowlers, particularly Schutt, delivered a dominant performance.

India Women's bowlers did try to make something out of the game but again, had very few runs to play with. Renuka Singh Thakur picked up three wickets, while Priya Mishra chipped in with two. They will need to erase this game from their memories and come out with a positive intent in the second game.

Australia Women knew that the target was a below par one and they needed a good start and try and not give any openings for the visitors. Phoebe Litchfield and Georgia Voll did exactly the same and smashed the bowlers out of the park. Once Phoebe Litchfield fell, they lost a bit of control as Ellyse Perry, Beth Mooney, and Annabel Sutherland departed soon, but again, the target was too low and it didn't hurt them much. Georgia Voll continued with the bat, capitalizing on a few fortunate moments, and guided her team to a comfortable victory.

What a dominating victory for the Aussies! They win by 5 wickets with 202 balls to spare! They now have a 1-0 lead in this series. India Women did try to make a match out of this and did pick five wickets but the target was too low for them to defend.

FOUR! Crunched! Tahlia McGrath finishes it off in style and Australia Women win by 5 wickets in just over 16 overs! Titas Sadhu serves it outside off, on a length, Tahlia McGrath frees her arms and slices it past backward point for a boundary.
