Ruturaj Gaikawad brought Daryl Mitchell to bowl the eighth over of the innings. His first two balls fetched three runs before the Chennai crowd erupted on the third ball.
Vijay Shankar edged a full ball through to MS Dhoni behind the stumps, who went airborne to his right to complete a brilliant catch with both hands, ending Shankar’s knock for 12.
Dhoni is yet to bat in IPL 2024, but has already pulled off two memorable dismissals from behind the stumps, having run out Anuj Rawat in CSK’s previous game against RCB as the batters tried to steal a bye.
