Punjab Kings won their opening game of IPL 2024 against Delhi Capitals by four wickets. PBKS restricted DC to 174-9 and chased down the target with four balls to spare.

In their second game, against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on March 26, they posted 176-6, but the hosts won with four wickets and four balls in hand – mirroring Punjab’s margin of victory against Delhi.

Punjab was one of the semi-finalists in the inaugural season, in 2008, but since then, they have made it to the top four only once, in 2014 – their only appearance in the final. Ten years later, they will hope to emulate, if not improve on, that feat, with the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur being their new home ground.
