The 17th edition of the Indian Premier League will begin on March 22: here is where you can watch IPL 2024 live in the UK.
IPL 2024 will begin on March 22, with an evening clash between defending champions Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai. A day before the match, MS Dhoni stood down as CSK captain, and the franchise appointed Ruturaj Gaikwad instead.
The first weekend will feature two double headers. On Saturday, Punjab Kings will host Delhi Capitals at Mullanpur, while Kolkata Knight Riders will host Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Eden Gardens. And on Sunday, Rajasthan Royals will play Lucknow Super Giants at Jaipur, followed by the much-anticipated Gujarat Titans-Mumbai Indians clash in Ahmedabad.
Of the 74 matches, the schedule for only the first 21 has been announced so far, presumably with the Indian General Elections in mind.
Chennai and Mumbai have won the IPL a record five times each, followed by Kolkata (twice), while Rajasthan, Hyderabad, Gujarat, and the now-defunct Deccan Chargers have triumphed once each.
