IPL 2024 captains wearing team jerseys

The 2024 Indian Premier League has begun, with the opening round of fixtures well underway. Here’s how the jersey’s look for each team as well as rating for every kit.

Every team unveiled their kits before the start of the tournament, with the jerseys available to buy from each franchise’s official website. While teams have mostly opted to keep in line with their traditional colours, there are some noticeable changes this year to some of the kits.

Chennai Super Kings – 8/10

As ever, Chennai are in their trademark yellow for the new season, with the jersey pretty much unchanged from last year, although the yellow appears back to a slightly deeper shade for this year. The blue detail under the arms and in the pockets are still there. A standard CSK jersey, no fuss just Chennai.

Gujarat Titans – 7/10

Gujarat’s jersey is slightly plainer this year, with less details on the lightning bolts on the shoulders and waist. Other than that, the jersey remains the same.

Mumbai Indians – 7/10

The blue and gold is in place as ever for Mumbai, although with slightly less gold on the shirt this year. The blue appears slightly lighter, but other than that, nothing much has changed.

Lucknow Supergiants – 6/10

A similar pattern to the shirt for Lucknow but against a slightly darker blue. The pops of red are still there, as is the underlying pattern.

Rajasthan Royals – 6/10

Rajasthan’s jersey is subtly different this year. The pattern that the pink was set against last season has changed and there’s some pink detailing on the purple shoulders.

Royal Challengers Bangalore – 5/10

RCB’s kit is one of the most different from last year of all the teams. Instead of the trademark black and red, the black has been replaced with blue which covers the top half of the jersey before fading into red, which also covers the trousers. The gold names and number detailing on the back remains, however.

Kolkata Knight Riders – 6/10

KKR’s rich purple is unmistakable, although the gold arrow detailing up the sides is new. There also appears to be slightly less gold at the bottom of the jersey this year.

Punjab Kings – 5/10

Punjab Kings’ traditional red is marked with slightly more gold embellishments this year. There’s also new blue detailing on the waist and shoulders.

Delhi Capitals – 6/10

Delhi Capitals’ kit appears pretty similar to 2023. The blue base with red shoulders and collar are the same, but this year there’s white trim on the ‘v’ of the collar.

Sunrisers Hyderabad – 6/10

Sunriser’s jersey is the most different of all the teams from last year. Looking to throw off a disappointing 2023, the block orange and black is gone, replaced by orange and black tiger print with a black collar. There’s also tiger print detailing on their black trousers.
