Watch: India A all-rounder Shreyanka Patil registered figures of 3-1-2-5 as she dismantled the Hong Kong batting lineup with her big, turning, off-breaks in the fourth match of the Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023 today (June 13).
The Emerging Teams Asia Cup started yesterday (June 12) in Hong Kong. India A’s first match was against the hosts today (June 13) at the Mission Road Ground in Mong Kok.
Winning the toss, India A captain Shweta Sehrawat decided to field first. The Hong Kong women got off to a slow start, scoring just three runs off the first eight balls of the innings.
The ninth ball saw the first wicket fall and it was a procession from there. After eight overs, the Hong Kong scorecard read 19-3. Then Shreyanka Patil came on to bowl.

Patil was a part of the RCB Women’s squad in the Women’s Premier League earlier this year and had grabbed eyeballs with her lower-order hitting skills. Today, however, it was her off-spin that grabbed eyeballs.
Playing her first game for India ‘A’, she took a wicket off her very first ball. She ended up taking four more in her next 17 deliveries and ended up with astonishing figures of 3-1-2-5 in her debut India ‘A’ game. All her wickets came from round the wicket, with three of them being bowled and one LBW, indicating how perfectly she honed in on the stumps.
Hong Kong were all out for 34. India chased it down in 5.2 overs and won the game by nine wickets.
