Guyana Amazon Warriors won the toss and batted first in their second match of the 2023 Women’s Caribbean Premier League. All of their batters got starts.
The New Zealand opening pair of Suzie Bates and Sophie Devine added 74 for the first wicket. Devine top-scored with 42, while Bates made 30. Natasha McLean provided the finishing touches to the innings with a 26-ball 38, taking Guyana to 146-4 off their 20 overs.
The Barbados Royals got off to a poor start in their run-chase. Devine dismissed Gaby Lewis in the third over. Patil came into the attack in the fifth over and had an immediate impact.
She removed Barbados wicketkeeper Rashada Williams in her very first over, but the killer blow came in her next over, the seventh of the innings.

Hayley Matthews gave herself some room and went back to cut a flat, length ball that was too full to cut. She was beaten by both the pace and the trajectory of the ball as it crashed into her off stump. That reduced the Royals to 39-3.
Erin Burns then anchored the innings, batting at No.4 with a patient 41-ball 53, with support from Laura Harris (18 off 6), Chinelle Henry (10 off 10), and Amanda-Jade Wellington (15 off 11).
Patil returned to take two more wickets off consecutive deliveries in the 15th over to leave the Royals reeling at 105-7, but Burns and Wellington’s unbeaten 42-run partnership pushed them over the line with three wickets and four balls remaining. Patil finished with 4-34 off her four overs.
