Watch: In an unexpected turn of events at Basseterre, Sheldon Cottrell helped St Kitts and Nevis Patriots maintain their winning streak with a last-ball six to win the game for them.

The Patriots needed 10 off the last over after Cottrell started his innings with a six and a four off Jason Holder in the penultimate over. Ashley Nurse sent back Dominic Drakes off the fourth ball of the 20th over and Naseem Shah then took a single next ball to leave Cottrell to make four off one ball to win the game.

The West Indian quick did better. Shaping himself up for the big slog, Cottrell pumped Nurse over long-off for a spectacular six and raised his arms in jubilation as teammates ran in from the dugout in celebration.

Interestingly, it isn’t the first time Cottrell has hit a six to win a game. Against Ireland in January 2020 in an ODI, West Indies needed two to win off two balls with one wicket in hand when Cottrell lofted Mark Adair for a six over cover to win the game.
