Having been put into bat, Texas Chargers made their way to 109-7 off their 10 overs thanks largely to a late cameo by Darren Stevens, who scored 36 off 18 balls. Hafeez opened the batting for Texas but couldn’t contribute much as he was dismissed by S Sreesanth for eight off six balls.
Sreesanth took four wickets for 12 runs and South African off-spinner Dane Piedt took 2-15 off their respective two overs. Morrisville then lost Parthiv Patel off the very first ball of the innings to Fidel Edwards.

Gayle was the next to go. Cramped for room by Hafeez, he lobbed an easy catch back to the bowler. Hafeez has an extraordinary record against Gayle in the T20 format: he has conceded 28 in 63 balls and dismissed Gayle five times.
Hafeez returned for his second – and final – over in the sixth over of the innings, and claimed two more wickets, of Obus Pienaar and Calvin Savage, to finish with 3-10 off two overs.
At 48-5 after six overs, Morrisville Unity looked down and out and were never able to recover as they finished their innings on 75-8, falling 34 runs short of the Texas Chargers’ total of 109.
Hafeez was awarded the Player of the Match for his match-winning bowling performance.
