Marizanne Kapp returned sensational figures of 5-15 in her four-over spell as Delhi Capitals restricted Gujarat Giants to 105 in match nine of the WPL.
Kapp removed all of the Gujarat top four, which included her South African teammate Laura Wolvaardt and Australia’s Ash Gardner in consecutive balls.

Sushma Verma followed in Kapp’s next over, and after 6.5 overs of the innings, she had her five-for.
The South African also bowled 16 dot balls in her four overs, as the Giants struggled to find an answer on a tough pitch.
They could not recover from 9-3, and were eventually bowled out for 105. The Capitals chased it down with ease, winning by 10 wickets thanks to an unbeaten 76* from Shafali Verma.
Kapp’s brilliant performance came barely two hours after her wife and former South African captain Dane van Niekerk had announced her retirement from international cricket. Van Niekerk is also in India, representing Royal Challengers Bangalore, but is yet to make an appearance in the WPL.
