The Abu Dhabi Knight Riders were shot out for 94 after Sharjah Warriors captain Tom Kohler-Cadmore opted to field at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
Wicketkeeper Michael Pepper (32 in 21 balls) and Alishan Sharafu (26 in 28) took the score to 61-1 inside the ninth over, but Adil Rashid (4-1-12-4) throttled them in the middle overs.
Abu Dhabi were 94-7 when Joe Denly, with dyed blond hair, came on to bowl his leg-breaks. Sagar Kalyan went for a slog but could only hole out to deep backward square leg.
Captain Sunil Narine stepped out, attempted a reverse slog-sweep off the first ball he faced, missed the line completely, and was given out leg-before.
Denly was on a hat-trick at this point, but No.11 Josh Little played out the rest of the over. At the other end, Daniel Sams had David Willey caught at long-off with his first ball to end the Abu Dhabi innings at 94.
Wicketkeeper Niroshan Dickwella (30 in 29 balls) and Liam Livingstone (30 in 13) responded with a second-wicket stand of 52 in 26 balls before Denly (18 not out in 16) saw Sharjah home with seven wickets and 37 balls in hand.
