Watch: Scotland batter George Munsey was bowled in unusual circumstances in the ILT20, walking across his stumps only for a delivery from Sheldon Cottrell to take out his leg stump.

Munsey seemed to pull out of his stroke midway through, perhaps expecting the ball to pass harmlessly down the leg-side, only to be caught out by the inward movement from Cottrell.

The dismissal came in the second over of Dubai Capitals’ attempted chase of 183 against Desert Vipers, with Munsey the first wicket to fall. He fell for a three-ball duck, with his dismissal greeted with a trademark Cottrell salute.

Munsey scored a half-century against Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in his first ILT20 appearance, with this his second game in the UAE-based competition. Cottrell has been one of the Vipers’ standout bowlers, second in the overall wicket charts and with an economy only just above a run a ball.

There was something of Ijaz Ahmed’s infamous dismissal by Dominic Cork in Munsey’s downfall, though Munsey’s lack of stroke was less obvious.
