Two club cricketers in Yorkshire stunned their teammates after sharing a staggering world record-breaking, 340-run partnership.

Carlton Towers CC’s Mark Holmes, 38, and Tom Collins, 24, smashed their way through the first innings of the Snaith Evening League 20-over fixture for an unbroken 340-run stand included nine sixes and an incredible 28 fours.

Collins top scored with 200* while Holmes made a comparatively sedate 112*. The rest of the team enjoyed an evening without any batting responsibilities.

The partnership has unsurprisingly smashed all the league’s records, also obliterating the 229-run T20 partnership achieved by Virat Kohli and AB de Villers during the 2016 IPL season.

Holmes and Collins’ opponents Eggborough Power Station were bowled out for 121 in reply.
