Watch: USA captain Monank Patel smashed Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi down the ground for six to reach fifty during the PAK vs USA fixture in Dallas, Texas on Thursday (June 6).

With 66 needed off 47 balls in a run-chase of 160 for the USA, Afridi bowled short. Monank, batting then on 40 off 32 deliveries, rode the bounce, hitting a four over mid-off. Afridi pitched the third ball slightly fuller and on off stump. Monank needed no second invitation as he swung through the line to dispatch the ball over the bowler’s head for a six.

The consecutive hits brought Monank’s 50 off 34 balls, bringing down the equation to 56 off 45. He fell two overs later against Mohammad Amir without adding more to his tally, but the innings had already put the USA in a commanding position.

The match went into a Super Over as Nitish Kumar hit a last-ball four to take 15 runs from Haris Rauf's 20th over. USA prevailed in the Super Over by five runs to hand Pakistan a shock defeat.
