Watch: A crowd footage beautifully captures Hardik Pandya’s emotions after Virat Kohli struck that six off Haris Rauf under pressure during the Sunday India-Pakistan cliffhanger in the 2022 T20 World Cup.

The shot will be revisited again and again. With India needing 28 off eight to clinch the game, Kohli conjured one of the most incredible shots in T20 history. Haris Rauf bowled a slower ball that came at Kohli’s chest; Kohli backed away and slammed it over Rauf’s head, into the stands. It forced Ian Smith to exclaim “that shot was nigh-on impossible for a normal human being” as fans were again left in awe of the player.

A spectator in attendance captured the moment of the maximum from a different angle to the official feed. The spectator was being Kohli, so his focus was on Pandya. As the ball went up in the air and over the boundary rope, Pandya, at the non-striker’s end, was seen visibly charged up, shouting in joy before going on to congratulate his partner.

He later went on to reveal that the six will always be “special, special, very special” to him, and that no one except Kohli could have pulled off such a hit.
