Watch: Shahrukh Khan ensured a finish worthy of a movie to the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, smashing a last-ball six to help Tamil Nadu to their third title with a win against Karnataka in the final.

Chasing 152 to win, defending champions Tamil Nadu got off to a decent start, scoring 51-2 in 7.4 overs. N Jajadeesan and skipper Vijay Shankar got together to make 44 at a brisk pace but KC Cariappa got two wickets in two balls, as the side collapsed to 95-4, needing another 57 in 28 balls. In walked Shahrukh Khan, who got off to a flier, scoring ten off the first four balls that he faced.

However, Karnataka got back into the game with two quick wickets, leaving Tamil Nadu with 22 needed off the last seven deliveries, which came down to eight off the final two balls. Prateek Jain, bowling the 20th over of the innings, conceded a wide off the penultimate ball. He re-bowled the delivery and conceded two, leaving Shahrukh with five to get off the last ball.

The Punjab Kings player managed to emulate the great MS Dhoni, who was watching on keenly, as he crunched the ball towards deep square leg for a huge six to finish the match off in style and spark wild celebrations among the Tamil Nadu squad. Shahrukh was unbeaten on 33 off just 15 deliveries, with his innings containing one four and three maximums.
