In a match that was reduced to a five overs a side due to a wet outfield, the New Jersey Triton’s won the toss and elected to field. The New York Warriors got off to a solid start courtesy of Kamran Akmal (27 in 12 balls) and Richard Levi (16 in 5).

Afridi came in to bat at No.4 and went big from the very first ball. He clipped Liam Plunkett over mid-on for four, and followed that with several boundaries behind the square on either side of the wicket.

He hit two sixes and six fours in his knock that lasted just 12 deliveries, taking his tally to 37 and New York’s score to a hefty 84-2 off five overs. Afridi was particularly harsh on Chris Barnwell as he smashed 20 off the four balls he faced against him.

However, despite his heroics with the bat, Afridi’s team wasn’t able to get over the line as the New Jersey top three aced the chase, winning the game by nine wickets and two balls to spare.

Jesse Ryder scored 38 off 12 balls, hitting three fours and four sixes while his opening partner Yusuf Pathan scored 16 off six. After conceding 27 off his only over, Barnwell made up with the bat as he smashed an unbeaten 28 off 10 balls including four sixes.
