In a PSL 2024 match at the National Stadium in Karachi, Sahibzada Farhan and Mirza Baig opened batting for the Lahore Qalandars after Shaheen Shah Afridi won the toss and opted to bat.
Farhan hit the first ball of the match, bowled by Mohammad Amir, for four, and hit Amir for four again, off the first ball of the third over.
Farhan stepped out by the time Amir released the fifth ball of the same over from over the wicket. He gave himself room and lofted Amir over extra-cover. In the process, he could not hold on to the bat – it flew towards square leg – but the ball reached the boundary nevertheless.
Abrar Ahmed claimed both Farhan (25 in 22 balls) and Baig (12 in 13) in the sixth over. Lahore, 39-2 after the powerplay, were 70-3 in 10 overs at the time of writing with Abdullah Shafique (26) and Shaheen (1) at the crease.
