Watch: Rahul Tripathi hit a no-look ramp shot off a 149kmph delivery by Lockie Ferguson en route to a blazing cameo in the third T20I against New Zealand.
Walking in to bat in the second over, Tripathi started off cautiously, taking 10 balls to score his first nine runs. Then he decided to take on the bowling in the last over of the powerplay, which was sent down by Ferguson.
When Ferguson bowled one on a length, Tripathi shuffled across and dispatched it for four. He followed it with the first six of his innings, a stunning ramp shot despite a fine leg in place.
It was a full-pitched ball on middle-stump. Tripathi walked across the stumps to outside off and paddled away the ball without looking at the outcome.
He hit four fours and three sixes in his 22-ball 44 before being dismissed by Ish Sodhi. At the time of writing, India are 151-3 in 14.4 overs, with Shubman Gill (63 in 43 balls) and Hardik Pandya (15 in seven) at the crease.
