Karnataka Under-19s captain Dheeraj Gowda opted to field in the Cooch Behar Trophy match at the Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Academy. Led by Hardik Raj (5-28), Karnataka then bowled out the hosts for 170 even as opener Bilal Ahmed Bhat made 44.
In response, Samit Dravid joined Karthikeya KP at 98-3, and the pair added 359 for the fourth wicket. Karthikeya dominated the partnership with a 175-ball 163 (21 fours, five sixes), while Dravid’s 159-ball 98 included 13 fours and a six.
After they fell in quick succession, Dhruv Prabhakar (66 in 73 balls, nine fours, one six) and Gowda (51 in 56, six fours, one six) added an unbroken 115 in 20 overs before Gowda declared the innings closed.
Jammu & Kashmir were then left reeling at 65-4 before Rishav (47) and Nashant Kumar (43) added 74. However, once the partnership broke, they were bowled out for 180. Samarth N, Raj, and Gowda claimed two wickets apiece.
