Resuming their innings at 147-2, India put up a massive total of 356-2 on the board with Virat Kohli and KL Rahul both scoring hundreds. Kohli scored his 47th ODI ton, while Rahul scored his sixth.
Pakistan needed to get off to a flier of a start to have any chance of getting close to India’s total. It did not quite work out. Jasprit Bumrah, bowling in an ODI for the first time in more than a year, and Mohammed Siraj got the ball to hoop around under the lights as the Pakistan batters found it tough to put bat to ball.

Bumrah got rid of Imam-ul-Haq in the fifth over to give India the first breakthrough. Hardik Pandya came on to bowl first change and struck gold immediately, getting rid of Pakistan captain Babar Azam with an in-seaming peach. Mohammad Rizwan was the next to go as Shardul Thakur got one to hold its line inducing a nick behind to the wicketkeeper.
Pakistan were struggling at 47-3 after 11.4 overs. Zaman was the set batter at the crease and needed to get a move on. But he wasn’t able to find any sort of rhythm. Kuldeep came into the attack in the 18th over and eventually cleaned up a struggling Fakhar in the 20th.
Fakhar lined up to slog across the line as he saw a flighted ball from Kuldeep. But it went straight through and hit the middle and off stumps, bringing his 50-ball knock of 27 to a close.
Kuldeep ended up taking five wickets as the last two Pakistan batters – Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah – didn’t come out to bat. India won the game by 228 runs.
