Jofra Archer, who plays for Sussex, did not bowl on the opening day of the tour match against the Karnataka side, comprising several Under-19, Under-23 and senior-side players. However, he joined the Karnataka side as a substitute on Friday (March 15).
Archer hasn’t played competitive cricket since IPL 2023 for Mumbai Indians due to a stress fracture, but looked in good rhythm as he bowled to his teammates in the morning session. He picked up two wickets, the first of which was Tom Alsop, leg-before.
Then he hurled a timber-seeking missile. He ran in hard and delivered the ball from his usual high release point. The batter leaned forward for a front-foot defence but was undone by the pace as the ball whizzed past him to shatter his stumps.
