England suffered a 275-run capitulation in Adelaide, the venue for the second Ashes Test match, which sees them 0-2 down in the series. The misery had further piled on skipper Root after he was hit in the nether areas by Starc on day four, two hours after a similar hit during training cut short his warm-ups as he rushed to the hospital for scans. The visit kept him out of the game on Sunday for 78 minutes, but just when skipper Root thought that at least his physical troubles were behind him, he was struck in the groin by a 139.4kmph delivery from Starc, who was visibly concerned as the captain sunk and buried his helmet in his hands after the blow.
Root, however, returned chirpier on Monday as he shared a moment replaying the incident with Starc before the start of day five, followed by a hearty laugh.
It was not all amusement by the end of the day, though, for Root as his team suffered yet another massive loss, with plenty of question marks over the leadership and overall skills of the side doing the rounds.

A lot of goodwill between the sides 🙏
