Unadkat, who finished with underwhelming figures of 1-102 against Durham in his first county game for Sussex this season, redeemed himself with nine wickets against Leicestershire, emerging as the star in a high-scoring thriller.
After Leicestershire were set a target of 499, Unadkat gave his team the early advantage with the wicket of Sol Budinger with the scorecard reading 15. However, they recovered well and were on route to overhauling the target, needing 15 runs more with one wicket in hand.
Chris Wright was batting on 21, with No.11 Matt Salisbury at the crease with a runner, having joined at 456-9. The duo weathered the storm and inched closer, but an outside leg stump yorker that swung in massively from Unadkat rattled Wright’s stumps, as they fell agonizingly short of their target.
