Watch: Chris Woakes seams ball like a leg-break into top of off in County Championship title clash

by Wisden Staff 2 minute read

Watch: Chris Woakes dismissed Ben Green with a beauty during a pivotal County Championship encounter between Warwickshire and Somerset in Edgbaston.

The all-rounder sent down a peach of a delivery to the opener, with the ball coming in with the angle, before pitching on a length around off stump and seaming the ball away to send the off-stump cartwheeling. Green could only manage 14 off 21 balls as the England international boosted his team’s chances in the must-win fixture.

Warwickshire are aiming for their first County title since 2012 and were placed second in the table before the game, with 55 points. Having claimed all but one of the batting bonus points available to them, they will be crowned county champions if they secure maximum bowling points and beat Somerset.
