India mounted a courageous comeback on the morning of Day 3 of the WTC Final against Australia with Rahane and Shardul Thakur stitching 109 runs for the seventh wicket at The Kia Oval.
When KS Bharat was dismissed off the second ball of the day, it looked like things might fold pretty quickly for India, but Thakur and Rahane batted with positive intent and rode their luck to bring India back in the game.’
Thakur was hit on the body several times, was given out LBW only for it to turn out to be a No-Ball, and was even dropped several times, including once by Green off the bowling of Cummins.
With India seemingly running away, Australia needed a moment of brilliance in the field to lift their spirits and it came from Green who redeemed himself by diving to his right and taking a screamer at gully.

Rahane pushed at a wide one from Cummins only to find a thick outside edge. It was flying quickly as Green stuck out his right hand and caught it behind his body.
Rahane who was looking well set to get to his 13th Test century, was dismissed on 89 with India still 208 runs behind the Australian first-innings total.
