Watch: ‘Ball of the century’ – Fans amused after massively turning loopy off-break hits leg stump from way outside off in local game

Kuwait cricket ball of the century

Watch: An extremely loopy off-break which turned massively to hit the stumps from way outside off in a local game in Kuwait has generated a lot of reactions on social media.

In a KCC T20 Challengers Trophy 2024 game between Kuwaiti Nationals and SBS CC, an eye-catching delivery ended up going viral on the internet.

Kuwaiti Nationals off-spinner Muhammad Waqar Anjum bowled with a run-up resembling Harbhajan Singh’s and floated a flighted delivery that took ages to come down onto the pitch.

The moon ball landed well outside the off stump, close to the wide line in fact, of the right-handed batter Beant Singh, who had shuffled across to pull the ball to the leg side.

However, the ball turned sharply, leaving Singh in no man’s land, and crashed into the leg stump, almost in video-game style.

It did not take much time for the clip of the ball to get circulated widely across social media, leaving everyone bemused. Some called it the ball of the century, while some questioned the legality of the bowler’s action.
