Azam, who has been in stellar form in T20s in the last two years, striking at 150.2 in 78 innings, has been named in Pakistan’s squad for the T20Is against Ireland and England that begin on May 10 and May 22 respectively. The 25-year-old has not been able to translate his domestic form into the international format, scoring just 29 runs in seven T20I knocks at a strike rate of 90.62.
Ahead of their tour to England, the Pakistan team has been practising at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, which is when Azam, known for his aggressive batting, hit a shot straight at two members of the support staff, positioned behind the wickets.
Facing throwdowns, the right-hander picked up the ball and sent it straight down the ground, where the coaching staff, one of whom was Saqlain Mushtaq, tripped over as they looked for cover.
