Watch: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Central Punjab shared the 2020/21 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy after the final ended in a thrilling tie.
Chasing a target of 356 on the final day of the game for victory, Central Punjab looked down and out at 202-7. However, a stunning fightback followed, with skipper Hasan Ali standing tall with the lower order to finish with an outstanding 61-ball 101*. The ninth-wicket pair of Ali and Ahmed Safi Abdullah added 70 runs in just 8.2 overs, with the latter scoring a breezy 35 off 23.
With 36 still needed, last man Waqas Maqsood did well to hang around for five overs to help his side level the scores. However, an ambitiously attempted loft over mid-off resulted in his downfall, thereby ending the game in a tie to bring out wild celebrations from the bowler Sajid Khan and rest of his teammates.
