Pakistan leg-spinner Abrar, who has played six Tests for Pakistan, dismissed van der Dussen in his second over with a clever piece of bowling. After the batter stepped out while looking for a big hit, Abrar shortened his length and sent down a slower ball at 80 kph. The ball turned in sharply and snuck through van der Dussen’s bat-pad gap, before disturbing the stumps behind to dismiss him for a 16-ball 15.
Van der Dussen, who walked out at No.3, stitched together a 53-run stand with opener Sahibzada Farhan, who was the enforcer in the partnership. He made 62 in 43 balls with three sixes.
Abrar, on the other hand, was not able to finish off the innings on a high, conceding 40 in his four overs with no further wickets. He was on the receiving end of the onslaught by Jahandad Khan, who hit him for three maximums in the 16th over, making it only the third time in the PSL that he has conceded 40 or more in an innings.
Abrar previously picked up 2-29 in the first game of the season against Peshawar Zalmi.
