England and Lancashire quick Saqib Mahmood showcased some thrilling pace on Sunday against Yorkshire in the County Championship, rattling the stumps twice in the opening session of the day.
On the morning of the final day, Mahmood got rid of both overnight batsmen with eye-catching deliveries.
To Will Fraine, Mahmood darted the ball in and had one of the batsman’s stumps cartwheeling. Just a couple of overs later it was Yorkshire captain Steven Patterson’s turn: this time, Mahmood shaped the ball away from the right-hander to uproot off stump.
Mahmood, who has played 10 white-ball games for England, has impressed so far in this year’s County Championship – at the time of writing, his 17 wickets this year have been delivered at an average of 24.70.
