Watch: Nathan Lyon was heard muttering at himself after Marnus Labuschagne offered to pad away a delivery from the off-spinner in the Sheffield Shield final between New South Wales and Queensland.

Labuschagne was in his elements in the Sheffield Shield final and Lyon had been struggling to get the better of his Australian teammate. The off-spinner had one ball turning sharply into him and Labuschagne decided to offer his pad.

A vociferous appeal from Lyon was promptly turned down by the umpire and the veteran spinner wasn’t impressed.

“He’s got a bat, one of the best batters in the world!” Lyon was heard on the mic as he walked back to his bowling mark, clearly not impressed that Labuschagne padded his delivery away.
