Aaron Finch was at the receiving end of Allen’s brilliance twice within a week, with both dismissals coming in the long-on region. On Friday, during the fifth T20I, Finch received a juicy full-toss from left-arm spinner Hayden Walsh Jr, and drilled it down the ground, with the ball appearing to carry enough power to hurtle over the ropes.

Allen, however, sprung into action in no time, sprinting towards the ball. Even as the ball appeared to sail towards the boundary line, he lifted off the ground, diving to his left to clutch the ball with one hand.

The catch had shades of another Allen special from the past when he had taken a one-handed blinder during CPL 2017. Two years later, he made headlines with another one-handed special during the World Cup against Afghanistan.

Finch’s wicket was the third to fall for Australia, with the side eventually ending 16 runs short of the 200-run target. The series ended 4-1 in West Indies’ favour.
