In a superb cameo that took Chennai’s total past 180, the Trinidadian all-rounder smashed 20 unbeaten runs in just eight balls. While he registered two fours and a six, he also ran two runs three times. The brace on the third ball of the final over resulted in chaos, as the bat slipped out of his hands as he played his stroke.
Bravo tried to heave the ball over long-on with all his might, but the bat flew away and it and the ball went high up in the air. While the ball landed in no man’s land, RR still had a chance to run the batsman out, since Bravo was attempting a couple without a bat.
Adding to the chaos was one of the RR fielders, who, as the ball was still in play, ran in and picked up Bravo’s bat, in an apparent attempt to return it, before dropping the willow once more as he realised he might be needed to back up.
However, with Bravo being the athlete he is, he sprinted for the runs and made his ground quite comfortably in the end. In fact, he did not even have to dive.
