UKC live
by Wisden Staff 2 minute read

A unique indoor cricket series, titled UKC (Ultimate Kricket Challenge) is set to get underway on December 24: here’s everything you need to know about the live streaming and TV telecast.

The unique format will feature some of the biggest white-ball cricketers of the modern age, such as Yuvraj Singh, Kevin Pietersen, Chris Gayle, Rashid Khan and Eoin Morgan, among others. The game will be played across four innings, each lasting 15 balls, where two players will go head-to-head.

A total of 16 matches will be played from December 24, 2020, to January 1, 2021.

The format of the game is unique: there are six scoring zones [A to E], with the corresponding runs ranging from 1 to 6. Further, if a batsman hits behind the bowler, called ‘Bullseye’, he gains 12 runs, and an extra ball is bowled. Five runs are deducted from the score when the batsman gets dismissed.

The main players, called ‘UKC contenders’, can bowl eight deliveries per innings, while a sub-player can bowl seven. Along with the main players, there will be a wicketkeeper and a fielder in the arena.

The following is the run distribution for the zones:

Zone A – 1 run
Zone B – 1 run
Zone C – 2 runs
Zone D – 3 runs
Zone E – 4 runs with bounce
Zone E – 6 runs if direct
