Tall Nottinghamshire fast bowler Jake Ball has been recalled to England’s ODI squad as cover for the injured Chris Woakes.
Woakes strained a quad muscle in the latter stages of England’s win in the second Test against Pakistan at Headingley and has been ruled out of the early part of the ODI series against Australia, joining fellow all-rounder Ben Stokes on the injured list.
Ball last played for England in an ODI win in Perth, where he went wicketless.
Tom Curran, who was already in the squad for the Australia series, has been added to the squad for England’s one-off ODI against Scotland.
