Netherlands and Scotland clash in Rotterdam for a two-match series starting May 19, 2021 – schedule, TV and live streaming details, as well the squads here.
Scotland last played an ODI in December 2019 while Netherlands did in June 2019. The latter, however, played the Nepal Tri-Nation T20I series last month. Scotland have announced a 14-man squad for the series with a few changes from the Cricket World Cup League 2 fixtures they played in UAE in 2019, primarily due to the unavailability of the players playing county cricket in England.
Netherlands, who haven’t yet named their team, are likely to have similar concerns regarding county players. However, their A team is playing a series in Ireland and a lot of those players look likely to win call ups to the main team.
The series will happen with the UK government set to lift international travel restrictions on May 17. The Scotland government has identified the same date for resumption of outdoor contact sports after the COVID-19 break.
Scotland had home series against Australia and New Zealand cancelled while Netherlands had a tour of Namibia and a home series against Pakistan – part of the Cricket World Cup Super League fixtures – cancelled due to the pandemic.
