England Women’s captain Heather Knight accidentally locked her boyfriend out of their shared flat during a Sky Sports Watchalong of the 2017 Women’s World Cup final.
Speaking live on Sky Sports Cricket as a replay of the post-match celebrations were being shown, a tweet from England left-arm spinner Sophie Ecclestone which appeared on-screen alerted her to the issue. “Heather!!” she tweeted. “You have left the keys in the door and you have locked Tim out! He is just wondering how long you are going to be?”
Knight was then forced to choose between staying on the air or going to let her partner in. “I’ve locked my boyfriend out of his own house!” she said. “It’s alright, he can wait.””
“Is that true, have you locked him out?” asked Sky Sports Cricket presenter Rob Key.
“I actually have, yeah,” Knight replied. “Do you think I should go let him in? I don’t want to miss these interviews, so I’ll keep him waiting.”
“Oops, he’s not a happy chappy,” Knight tweeted after the Watchalong ended.
