Chennai Super Kings enter this campaign as defending champions. They beat Gujarat Titans in the final last season. Mumbai Indians, who also made the playoffs last season alongside Lucknow Supergiants, have a new captain in Hardik Pandya in IPL 2024. They will hope to win their sixth title this year.
Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings, on the other hand, will expect a better showing. Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad also endured underwhelming campaigns in 2023 and would want to qualify for the playoffs, at the very least.
IPL 2024 will begin on March 22, with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) taking on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. So far, the schedule for the first 21 matches has been released due to the upcoming general elections in India.
