After a lot of drama, Hardik Pandya has returned to Mumbai Indians following an all-cash trade with Gujarat Titans. To facilitate this trade, MI have made another all-cash deal, selling Cameron Green to RCB.
Left-arm spin-bowling all-rounders Shahbaz Ahmed and Mayank Dagar have been traded between RCB and SRH respectively.

England Test captain and CSK all-rounder Ben Stokes has withdrawn from IPL 2024 citing workload and fitness issues.
In the latest IPL 2024 pre-auction transfer, Rajasthan Royals acquired the services of Avesh Khan from the Lucknow Super Giants after swapping him with batter Devdutt Padikkal, who went the other way.
Signed in the 2022 mega auction for a whopping 10 crore INR, Avesh represented the LSG in 22 IPL games across the two seasons and picked 26 wickets before his recent transfer. With 55 scalps from 47 IPL matches, he has headed to the inaugural champions’ camp for his existing fee.
Meanwhile, Padikkal, who first played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2019 and 2021, made a switch to RR in the 2022 bidding war for 7.75 crore INR, scoring 637 runs from 28 games in the next two seasons before being traded to LSG ahead of the 2024 auction in Dubai. The southpaw has 1521 runs from 57 matches under his belt, including nine fifties and a ton.
Earlier, Romario Shepherd changed his alliance from the Super Giants to the Mumbai Indians at a base price of 50 lakh INR to flag off the first transfer of the season. Shepherd is a household name in the T20 circuit, known for his prowess of being a handy finisher and a sharp pace bowler. Playing for the West Indies, he has struck 301 runs at a blistering strike rate of 154 and an average of 37.62. The all-rounder has also taken 31 international wickets.
IPL 2024 mini-auction: Latest coaching announcements
In the latest coaching staff rejig, Gautam Gambhir confirmed his departure from LSG to reunite with the Kolkata Knight Riders as a mentor, working alongside head coach Chandrakant Pandit. Gambhir led KKR to two title wins in 2012 and 2014 and was part of the franchise’s most consistent run.
While Andy Flower took over the reins from Sanjay Bangar as the head coach of the RCB in the middle of 2023, Sunrisers Hyderabad sacked Brain Lara to instate Daniel Vettori as the chief coach. Vettori’s most recent coaching stints include working as a consultant to the Australian men’s team during the Ashes 2023 and the recently concluded World Cup.
