Kohli reaches 10,000 ODI runs in record time

by Wisden Staff 2 minute read

Virat Kohli became the fastest man to reach 10,000 runs in ODIs – passing the milestone in 54 innings fewer than did Sachin Tendulkar.

Kohli reached the figure in his 205th innings, an unbeaten 157 against West Indies at Vizag.

His ODI statistics are truly remarkable. His average of 59.62 is the best of any player with more than 2,000 runs in the format.

Even more impressively, he keeps getting better. Since January 1, 2016 his record reads 3,168 runs in 47 innings at an average of 93.17, including 14 centuries and 14 fifties.
