The squads for the India women’s team for the T20I and ODI series against Bangladesh Women have been announced. Here is all you need to know about IND W vs BAN W squads for the tour, including full team lists and injury updates.

India Women will be touring Bangladesh for six limited-overs matches: three T20Is and three ODIs. The tour starts on July 9 with the first T20I and will end on July 22 with the third ODI.

All six games will be played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur. India have announced their squads for both formats. There have been several surprising exclusions with well-known and regular faces being left out and newcomers being given chances.

Attacking wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh has been left out of both squads, as have Renuka Singh Thakur, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, and Shikha Pandey. Left-arm spinner Radha Yadav hasn’t found a place in either squad as well.

Uma Chetry, a 20-year-old wicketkeeper from Assam has replaced Ghosh in both squads. She was a part of the India A team in the recently concluded Emerging Asia Cup and has been awarded for her performances and promise.

Priya Punia, the right-handed opening batter, and Monica Patel, the left-arm seam bowler, have made comebacks. Anusha Bareddy and Rashi Kanojiya, two left-arm spinners have both earned their first-ever call-ups to the national side and have replaced the experienced duo of Yadav and Gayakwad.

It is unclear yet as to what led the selectors to name a squad with so many big names missing. The players had been in a conditioning camp at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in May. Fitness and/or performance issues might be the reason behind several senior players failing to make the cut and youngsters getting an opportunity.
