The two remaining matches of the ongoing ODI series between India and South Africa have been called off due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The matches were set to be played on Sunday and Wednesday in Lucknow and Kolkata respectively. The first ODI on Thursday in Dharamsala was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to rain.

A statement from the BCCI said that South Africa will return to India at a later date to play three ODIs, with the BCCI and Cricket South Africa to work out a revised schedule.

At the time of writing, there have been 81 reported cases of the coronavirus in India, with one death.

Earlier on Friday, the BCCI announced that the IPL has been postponed till April 15, having initially been set to begin on March 29.
